Five funnels, one audience: how many people do you really have?

Run several Telegram funnels in the same niche and the same people join more than one. Here's how to see your true unique reach, how many times you meet the same person, and how to decide if that's making you money.

Five funnels, one audience: how many people do you really have?
On this page

Here’s a setup I see all the time, and I’ve run it myself. You find a niche that works, say betting tips. One channel does well, so you open a second with a different angle. Then a bot funnel. Then a VIP group and a DM link to a manager. Five funnels, same niche, same goal, same countries, often the same lookalike audiences behind them.

Every dashboard tells you how each funnel is doing. Funnel A: 4,000 joins. Funnel B: 3,000. Funnel C: 2,500. Add it up and you feel like you’ve built an audience of 9,500 people.

You probably haven’t.

The number nobody shows you

Meta doesn’t know your five funnels are one business. Each ad set hunts for the people most likely to join, and in one niche those are the same people. So the punter who joined your first channel last week sees your second channel’s ad today, likes it, and joins again.

Every funnel counts him. Every funnel’s cost per join includes him. Your total says 9,500. Your real audience might be 6,000.

That gap matters, and not because repeat people are bad. It matters because you can’t make good decisions without it:

  1. You don’t know your real audience size. Total joins say 9,500. You need to know it’s 6,000 people before you plan your next move.
  2. You don’t know what each person costs you. Divide your spend by unique people, not by total joins, and you see what you really pay to reach a new person.
  3. You don’t know which funnels bring new people. A funnel with great numbers might be mostly people from your other funnels. That can be great or not, but you should know.

What Joinvoo shows you now

Every join Joinvoo tracks comes with the person’s Telegram ID, and that ID never changes. So we can do what no ad platform can: count each person once, however many of your funnels they joined.

Open Results → Unique people and you get:

Results → Unique people: every join across your funnels on top, the different people underneath, and the gap between them (example account).
Results → Unique people: every join across your funnels on top, the different people underneath, and the gap between them (example account).
  • Unique people vs joins across funnels. The headline. For example, 9,500 joins from 6,000 different people.
  • Funnels per person. How many people joined 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5+ of your funnels.
  • Funnels sharing people. The pairs that overlap the most, like Betting A + Betting B: 1,840 people.
  • Each funnel, only here vs shared. What share of each funnel’s people are only there. A funnel at 80% shared is mostly reaching people you already have.
  • Everyone or From ads. Switch to ads only to see exactly the overlap you paid for.
  • A download of everyone in 2+ funnels, with which funnels they joined and in what order.

On your Overview you’ll also see one line under your numbers, like 6,000 unique people · 37% joined more than one funnel. Tap it to open the full report.

How to read it

Funnels sharing people: the pairs of funnels with the most people in common, and how much of the smaller funnel that is.
Funnels sharing people: the pairs of funnels with the most people in common, and how much of the smaller funnel that is.

Look at “From ads” first. Organic overlap is free: people who found your second channel through your first one cost you nothing. The overlap you paid for is the one to check against what it earns.

Know which funnels find new people. Look at the shared bar on each funnel. A funnel where most people are also somewhere else is mainly reaching your existing audience. If it earns from them, great. If you built it to grow your audience, its targeting needs a look.

Each funnel on your phone: green is people only in that funnel, violet is people also in another one.
Each funnel on your phone: green is people only in that funnel, violet is people also in another one.

Check the pairs. Two funnels with a big overlap usually target the same people. That’s fine when both earn from them, and worth fixing when one of them only exists to find new people.

Watch funnels per person over time. If it creeps up from 1.2 to 1.6 while your spend goes up, you’re scaling into your own audience, not a new one.

Repeat people can be your best people

This is the part people get wrong. Someone in three of your funnels isn’t waste. Often they’re your best customer.

  • They can earn you more than once. If each funnel pushes a different broker, bookmaker or offer, one person can register and deposit with each of them. Three funnels, three CPAs, one person.
  • They’re more interested. In most verticals, people who join more than one funnel deposit more and stay longer. They chose to hear from you again.
  • They might be moving down your funnel. Free channel, then your bot, then a message to your manager. That’s the journey you built.

Do repeat people deposit more? Now you can see it

If you track deposits with Joinvoo, the report answers this for you. Who deposits splits the people who joined in your dates into 1, 2 and 3+ funnels, and shows each group’s deposit rate and value per person, plus how many people deposited through two or more of your funnels.

Who deposits: deposit rate and value per person for people in 1, 2 and 3+ funnels (example account).
Who deposits: deposit rate and value per person for people in 1, 2 and 3+ funnels (example account).

In this example, people in 2+ funnels deposit 1.8× as often, and people in 3+ funnels are worth three times as much as people in one. Your numbers will be your own. That’s the point: you stop guessing whether overlap pays, and you read it.

So the overlap number isn’t a score to push to zero. It’s a question to answer per funnel: do these repeat people earn me more than they cost me? When they do, keep buying them. When a funnel’s job is to grow your audience with new people, that’s when overlap is a problem.

When you want a funnel to find only new people

If a funnel should only reach people you don’t have yet, exclude the people already in your other funnels in Meta. You don’t need to upload anything. Joinvoo already sends every join to your pixel with the funnel’s name attached.

  1. In Meta Ads Manager, open Audiences → Create audience → Custom audience → Website.
  2. Pick your pixel and your join event (usually Subscribe, or Lead for DM links).
  3. Tap Refine by → Parameters, and choose content_name contains your funnel’s name.
  4. Keep people for 180 days and name it something like Already in Betting A.
  5. In your other funnel’s ad set, go to Audience → Exclude and add it.

The report has these steps built in, with your pixel, event and funnel name ready to copy. Meta can only exclude people it can match, so the excluded audience will be a bit smaller than your real overlap.

What this counts, exactly

I’d rather you trust this number than be impressed by it, so here’s what’s in it:

  • Counted by Telegram ID. Each person counts once. Someone with two Telegram accounts counts twice, and two people sharing one account count once. Both are rare.
  • Joins only. People who clicked your ad but never joined have no Telegram ID, so they’re not in the count.
  • Fake joins are left out. Bot clicks, deleted accounts and join bursts that Joinvoo filtered don’t count. People who left and rejoined the same funnel count once.
  • Your dates. It counts people who joined in the date range you pick. Pick a longer range to see overlap that built up over months.

It’s not your ad platform’s reach number, and it won’t match it. Reach counts people who saw an ad. This counts people who actually joined.

The point

I call this traffic banking: every lead you buy is capital, and you should know exactly what you hold. Total joins tell you how many times you met people. Unique people tell you how many people you actually own, and how many of them you’re earning from more than once.

If you run more than one funnel, open Results → Unique people today. It’s free on every plan, and it already works on all the joins you’ve tracked so far, no setup needed.
