You launch a campaign, spend $500 on Monday, and by Monday night the people from it have deposited $150. That looks like a loser. But those same people keep depositing on Tuesday, Thursday and the week after. By day 12 they’ve deposited $520. The campaign was a winner all along. You just looked too early.
That’s the problem with judging ads on today’s ROAS. It counts the money that came in today, not the money the people from today’s ads will bring.
Payback: follow the same people over time
Results → Payback groups the people who joined from your ads by the day (or week) they joined. Each group is followed on its own, and the money they bring is added up at fixed points:
- Day 0: their first 24 hours
- Day 7: their first week
- Day 14, Day 30, Day 60: and so on
Because every group is measured from its own join day, a group from last week and a group from two months ago are compared fairly: both on “money in the first 7 days”.
If a group hasn’t had that many days yet, the box says not yet. A group that joined ten days ago has no “day 14” number, and Joinvoo doesn’t guess one. This matters: a young group never looks worse than it really is.
The one line you care about
Add your ad spend (typed in, imported, or synced from Meta, TikTok and Snapchat) and each box shows how much of the ad cost has come back: 16% on day 0, 84% on day 7, 124% on day 14. Over 100% means paid back.
At the top you get one sentence:
Your ads pay back in about 12 days.
It’s worked out only from the groups that have really reached that day, so it’s never a forecast. If no group has paid back yet, it says how far along you are instead: “Not paid back yet: 64% of your ad cost is back.”
No spend entered? You still see the money per person by day. That alone tells you how long people keep depositing.
You can look at all your ads together, or one campaign, one platform or one country at a time. Ad spend isn’t split by country, so the country view shows money per person rather than payback.
LTV: what one person is really worth
The second view, Money per person (LTV), answers a different question: not “when”, but “how much”.
For each campaign, ad set, ad or country you see:
- FTDs: people who made a first deposit
- Repeat deposits: every deposit after the first one
- Money per FTD: all the money from these people divided by the number who deposited. This is the lifetime value most programs talk about.
- Money per join: what one person who joins is worth, whether they deposit or not
- Repeat rate: of the people who deposited, how many came back and deposited again
Put next to your cost per FTD, this is the honest test of a campaign. If one FTD costs you $30 and brings $85 over time, that campaign earns almost 3× its cost, even if its first-day ROAS looked weak.
Track this in Joinvoo, free.Every join, start and deposit matched to the ad that drove it. First 500 joins on us.Start freeWhich creative brings people who stay
Two ads can bring the same number of first deposits and be worth very different amounts. One brings people who deposit once and leave. The other brings people who come back every week.
By ad (creative) shows LTV and repeat rate per ad, using the ad name in your link (utm_content). If your Meta link doesn’t carry it yet, add &utm_content={{ad.name}} and each creative shows up on its own.
Two alerts that stay quiet until it matters
Big drops in deposits usually have a boring cause: a broken offer link, a postback that stopped, a rejected ad. The sooner you know, the less you spend for nothing. Joinvoo now watches for two things and messages you in Telegram:
🕒 Spring_Promo has 312 joins today but no first deposit yet. It usually gets about 9 a day. Check the offer link, the postback and the landing page.
This one only fires after 15:00 your time, only for a campaign that had deposits in the week before (so new campaigns never trigger it), and once a day per campaign. You choose how many joins count as “busy”: 150 by default.
📉 Yesterday you had 6 first deposits: 67% fewer than your usual 18 a day (the 7 days before).
This one comes in the morning, only when the drop is at least half and you usually get at least 4 a day, so a slow Sunday on a small account doesn’t wake you up. Both are on by default, never include money amounts, and can be switched off in your alert settings.
How to use it this week
- Open Results → Payback with 3 months picked. Note the payback day. That’s how long you should give a new campaign before judging it.
- Switch to Money per person. Sort out which campaigns earn more than they cost over time, not just on day one.
- Open By ad (creative). Keep the creatives with a high repeat rate and make more like them.
- Leave the two alerts on. They’re quiet on normal days and loud on the days you’d want to know.
